Article 1: The Important Habit of Just Starting

This article captured my attention because so often I feel as if the hardest part of an assignment is just getting started. I enjoyed reading this article because it dove into the psychology of beginning and completing an assignment and touched on the importance of setting time slots dedicated to a certain task. I use a planner to map out every week, and although it doesn't have time slot to-dos for every hour of the day, it gives me a general outline and helps me stay motivated and on tasks throughout the week.

Article 2: The Psychology of Checklists

I personally use a checklist in my planner, so I was drawn to click on this article. I have studied the effects of dopamine, but never specifically the direct correlation of checklists and dopamine release. Therefore I was excited to see relationship between the two and how a simple action can have an impact in our productivity and sense of accomplishment. I definitely plan to continue this method!

My junior year I was the president of the OU Women's Club Volleyball team, and enjoyed traveling to ...

Elephant's Revenge      A snake heard the loud footsteps of an elephant walking towards him. He became excited because he had been waiting for this moment for days now. A mother elephant was venturing to gather some food and stopped by her usual 'itching tree'. Every couple of days she would use the tree to itch her back where pesky flies and bugs would bite her. Although she would shake the tree, and the animals in it, no damage ever resulted from it as she was careful not to harm the residents that lived there. However, the snake was evil and knew he could use her size and actions to cover up his own agenda. When she began to shake the tree, the snake slid over to a bird's nest and wacked the nest with his tail. This caused all the eggs to fall out and smack against the ground. The parent birds were just arriving back to the nest when they saw the eggs fall. The snake slivered away before he was spotted and the birds automatically assumed it was the elephant's it...
